Karl was my friend for 30 years.  I have so many happy memories of our time together, from making music, to our lunches, to talking about everything under the sun, to him attending my performances.  I will feel his absence every day for the rest of my life.  Karl was also one of the finest composers I’ve known.  I was lucky enough to play his music with him in his band Wake Up Call for years, and it’s one of the finest bands I’ve ever played with, and included some of the finest musicians I’ve ever played with.  You truly left your mark on this world, Karl, and I will do my best to preserve and honour your memory and your legacy each and every day.
